Clinics and Events
Clinics and Events
Summerlin Tennis Club is happy to announce the expansion of our tennis programs by offering small group lessons. For the safety of our team, community, students, and their families, we will continue to keep our groups small with a max student-coach ratio of 6:1. Students will stay within their group for both days/times of instruction, allowing for the development of their tennis skills and socialization with others of their same age group in a manageable environment.
Our goal is to provide a fun and engaging tennis program to stimulate, challenge and appeal to all ages and skill levels.
Group sessions will be (4) weeks in duration with lessons twice a week for a total of (8) lessons per session. Class duration is (1) hour for Pee Wee, Red, Orange, and Green Ball. Tiny Tots is 30 minutes. Cost is per child, per session. For more information, visit https://summerlintennisclub.com.
Tiny Tot Tennis: 3-4 yrs.
Young players become familiar with basic tennis FUNdamentals and tennis equipment while developing basic ABCs (agility, balance, and coordination). Focus is on FUN!
Pee Wee: 4-6 yrs. Learn the Basics!
Never held a tennis racquet? No problem! Our program is designed to grow as your children do. Players will work on their ABCs (agility, balance, and coordination) and basic movement skills. Smaller courts and age-appropriate equipment are used as they learn all the skills and know-how they need. Not to mention keeping them fit and active!
Red Ball: 5-8 yrs. Serve, Rally, Score!
For Pee Wee’s ready to take the next step. Our Red Ball class is perfect for further developing tennis FUNdamentals and strokes, working on rallies, and scoring using their new knowledge to play in competitions as a team or individual. Still small courts and softballs, but they will learn what they need for the game ahead!
Orange Ball: 7-10 yrs. Develop Your Game!
Time to learn some new techniques, tactics, and problem-solving! These skills will help turn them into tennis titans. Players will be introduced to proper grip, preparation, and swing path (GPS) for each stroke, develop coordination and movement to the ball.
Green Ball: 8-11 yrs. Test Your Skills!
Your junior can now fine-tune the techniques they have learned over the years. Continuing to work on the five controls for each stroke (Direction, Depth, Height, Spin, and Speed). Moving from cooperative to competitive play.
